It’s been six years since Spring Breakers, but The Beach Bum finds Korine returning to the big screen in a big way, delivering a film that stars Matthew McConaughey, Snoop Dogg, Isla Fisher, Zac Efron, Jimmy Buffett, Martin Lawrence and Jonah Hill. You probably know Korine best for his 2013 film Spring Breakers, but prior to breaking into mainstream Hollywood, he wrote the screenplay for Larry Clark’s 1995 film Kids and subsequently directed the indie films Gummo, Julien Donkey-Boy, Ken Park, Mister Lonely, and Trash Humpers. We haven’t offered up an installment of “What’s That Song?” lately, but we’re making up for lost time with this one, which revolves around Harmony Korine’s new film, The Beach Bum.
